The Community and Services Directory is an
invaluable collection of sites that offer a valuable service in some
way to the community.
In particular, the directory
has a very unique feature: relevance. The sites are listed in
the order of how relevant they are likely to be to our users, like
yourself.
Whenever you perform a search,
or if you "list all sites", you can be assured that the most relevant
sites will always bubble to the top.
To achieve this, a very
special algorithm is in place. We measure what searches are done, who
clicks on which links, plus how many visitors we get from the sites
listed in our directory. The idea being that the amount of
visitors going in both directions indicate how similar the sites are
to what our users are looking for.
You will notice that there are
some sites listed without a link. These are sites we have in our
database, but historically, don't seem to have been as useful to our
users. These sites are listed for completeness, and could become
active again at any time.
No longer will you need to wade
through pages of irrelevant results now that you have The Community
and Services Directory. |
